How many pictures will we receive?
The number of pictures you will receive will depend on the length of your session and choice in package. You will receive a set number of edited images via an online gallery or email. These images are your memories, and you have full rights to reproduce them as you wish for personal use and may be shared through social media with photographer credit (ex. tag Memories by Amanda on Facebook when sharing photo. Commercial print releases are available upon request.
When will we get our photos?
You’ll typically receive your edited photos within 7-10 business days after your session. Rush delivery within 3-5 day is available for an additional fee. Gallery sneak peaks can be added onto any package which will give you a look into your gallery within 24 hours.
When will we get our keepsakes?
Keepsakes are crafted with care, so timing can vary depending on the project. Most pieces — like slate tiles are ready within 2-3 days after you select your photo. Resin pieces can take longer depending on the size. I’ll always keep you updated on the progress and let you know as soon as your keepsake is ready to enjoy!
Do we have to pose the whole time?
Not at all! While I’ll guide you with simple poses, most of my sessions focus on natural interactions, laughter, and candid moments. I aim to make it fun and relaxed so your personality shines through. Often times the best moments are in between the poses.
Can we bring props or special items?
Absolutely! Props, meaningful items, or even your pets (pet fee applies) can make the session more personal and authentic. Whether it’s a favorite blanket, a family heirloom, or a fun outfit, I love incorporating things that tell your story.
How should we dress for our family session?
Your outfits can make a big difference in how your photos feel, but the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and like yourself! Here are a few tips to help you look your best:
Coordinate, don’t match: Choose colors that complement each other without being too “matchy-matchy.” Neutral tones, soft pastels, and earthy colors photograph beautifully.
Think layers and textures: Sweaters, scarves, jackets, or hats can add depth and interest to your photos.
Comfort is key: If you feel awkward or uncomfortable in your outfit, it will show in the photos. Pick clothes you can move and relax in.
Plan for your session: Consider the location and season — light, breathable clothing works well outdoors in summer; cozy layers are perfect for fall or winter sessions.
Avoid busy patterns and logos: Small patterns can look messy on camera, and logos can be distracting. Solid colors or subtle patterns work best.
Above all, choose outfits that feel like you. Your photos should reflect your personality and the story you’re telling — relaxed, authentic, and full of life.
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
Absolutely — and you’re not alone! Most people feel a little awkward or unsure at first, and that’s completely normal. My job is to make you feel relaxed, comfortable, and confident so your personality shines through. I guide you through poses, capture natural interactions, and focus on the genuine moments that make your photos special.
The goal isn’t perfection — it’s authentic, meaningful images that reflect who you are, and I promise to make the experience fun, easy, and stress-free.
Can we choose our location?
Yes! I love working in places that are meaningful to you, whether it’s your home, a favorite park, or somewhere special in your community. If you’re unsure, I can also suggest locations that photograph beautifully.
What if it rains or the weather isn’t ideal?
No worries! For outdoor sessions, I monitor the weather and can reschedule if needed. Sometimes overcast days actually create soft, flattering light for photos, so it can work in your favor!
Do you provide prints or just digital images?
You’ll receive all your edited digital images after your session. generally within 7-10 days, and 3-5 days rush delivery. You’re welcome to print your photos wherever you like, or I can help create something special for your home. Forever Photos Keepsakes are a perfect way to display your memories or gift them to a loved one. Forever Photos Keepsakes line is handcrafted in house and generally take 7-10 business days to complete. Once keepsakes are complete you will be notified and items can be picked up at our location or you may choose delivery or shipping options for an additional fee.
Forever Photo Keepsake can be added to a package or purchased separately with the image of your choice.
